Let The Rain Save You Money On Your Water Bill

It's a wet night in The Villages, and it looks like we will have rain over the next several days.  As we start to move into the rainy season, be sure you have your lawn irrigation set properly to reflect the increase in precipitation.

With enough rain each day, many people will be able to turn off their sprinkler system altogether.  Even if you have a rain gauge connected to your automatic irrigation system check to see if it's actually turning off your system when you don't need it.  Most systems work well enough to not turn on the system while it's raining, but many will allow the system to come on shortly after it rains.  The best thing to do when we get lots of rain is to move your system to the off position.  This will ensure that you are not wasting water on your lawn when it doesn't need it.

Also, if you haven't checked in a while, make sure your sprinkler heads aren't broken.  Nothing runs up your water bill faster than water shooting out of a broken sprinkler head.

While Village Delivery doesn't do lawn or irrigation work, we can connect you with our network of lawn care professionals.  Feel free to call or email us, and we'll help you find a reputable company to that can help you with any lawn or irrigation needs you have.
